Map Representation Systems
In the project we investigate the relationships between maps
as spatial media and the represented symbolic and pictorial
knowledge.
Two types of knowledge involved in human map processing
can be distinguished:

the knowledge encoded in the map
-
the knowledge about the mapping / interpretation
process
