Aspects & Aspect Maps
Every map shows only certain aspects of the geographic
world.
Aspects are specified as properties of and relations
between
geographic objects, e.g.
-
the extension of a forest area,
-
the length of a river, or
-
the orientation of a location with respect to another
location.
Aspect maps are spatial organization structures for
representing
one or more aspects.
To solve a given task only few aspects are used by
extraction
from an aspect map and can be represented in an aspect map by combination
processes.
