Conference on Spatial Information Theory

The following five routes are suggestions on how you can reach the conference
site from Hamburg airport.
Route 1: Recommended scenic route (taxi - catamaran
- taxi)
From the airport take a taxi to Landungsbruecken at the Hamburg
harbor. There, take the Elbe-City-Jet (a catamaran), which leaves
of
platform 4. The ship takes you in 45 minutes along the Elbe river
with a scenic view both of the beautiful parts of the harbour and the city
of Hamburg to
Stadersand. From there, a bus will take you directly
to the
Pferdemarkt in the town of Stade. The conference site
is in walking distance (500 meters) from the Pferdemarkt. You can
also find taxis to bring you to the STADEUM. The hotel "Stader
Hof" is immediately adjacent to STADEUM.

Route 2: Recommended economic scenic route (bus - train - catamaran)
From the airport, you take bus no. 110 to the city-train station
Ohlsdorf.
If you miss the bus, you can of course take a taxi. In Ohlsdorf
take the S1(green line) heading either to Landungsbruecken, Altona
or Blankenese. Leave the train at Landungsbruecken and cross
the bridge to the Hamburg harbor. Take a right and find the Elbe-City-Jet
(a catamaran) at platform4. The ship takes you in 45 minutes
along the Elbe river with a scenic view to Stadersand (continue as in Route
1).

Route 3: Train trip to Stade (bus - train)
From the airport take the Airport-Shuttle bus, leaving from terminal
1 and 4, to Hauptbahnhof. There, you take a Regionalbahn (RE))
heading to Cuxhaven. The train usually depart from platform 12
a/b. Leave the train in Stade, which is the 5th stop. At the
train station, taxis are available for transport to the STADEUM.
The hotel "Stader Hof" is immediately adjacent to STADEUM.

Route 4: Taxi trip to Stade
If you are in a hurry, a direct trip to Stade with a taxi can be an alternative
for you. The taxi-trip costs about 180 DM and takes between 50 and 60 minutes.
If you are a group of up to 6 persons, you can get a "Grossraumtaxi". As
the price will be split among the passengers, this may be more economic
than the other routes.
If you are interested in this kind of transportation, please let
us know at least 2 weeks in advance, so that we can reserve a car for you,
which will pick you up at the airport.
Route 5: Driving instructions (from Hamburg airport
to Stade)
From the airport take route B433 in northern direction until
you reach crossing road "Ring 3" (brown sign, approx. 2 km). Turn
left and follow "Ring 3" until you reach freeway A7 (blue
signs, approx. 5 km). Take the freeway, direction "Hannover". After passing
the river Elbe tunnel and a total freeway trip of about 20 km leave the
freeway at "Heimfeld". Take road B73 heading west, which will take
you directly to Stade (approx. 35 km). In Stade follow the white signs
to "STADEUM". The hotel "Stader Hof" is immediately adjacent
to STADEUM.
